Freenet, erase once a free network ...

Archived on: GNU / Linux, Informatica, Society - Packo at 12:57 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2006

It was a cliché, now is a little bit of a reality. I heard her speak of her birth but I decided not to talk about it until today, when I read the blog of Covenant: Freenet: Freedom of Expression.

What is it? because no one better to describe themselves, and they have a Wiki in Castilian, very comprehensive and concise.

For those who do not know anything we can say is that as a network of P2P, but oriented to the transmission of information. I can not say more because they are not as yet been designed, to see when I have time and install it.

If someone wants to install and use, nothing but follow the directions that are in the Wiki in Castilian, and if you have a problem because I can ask. Certainly we need Java, but it seems that goes well with other Java implementations that are not from Sun, such as Blackdown.

For those who want to know more about java: Wikipedia / Java

The main page of Freenet: Freenet Project.

I have tested Freenet few weeks. Has much charm. More on the ideological basis on which it is constructed by the technology base used.

There are around a pair of currents of thought which says that Java thing ... but for now, as you say, everything about Java.

And count as you dig deeper into the subject. Most likely to have any Freesite test run this week, so if you try to let me know animas ;)

Incidentally, if you want to keep an eye on what is no need to mount your own node, a gateway online here ;)

Freenet already knew but had never raised me to install it, I found it curious that your article thought it was something quite marginal and unknown :)
If you install the final Packo, comentame that you have, the better we get a post and it accounts well in gneral.

Do not you think it is not so well known, it's just that it may be the seed for a possible solution to the problem of sites that are closed because they did not agree and things like that. I guess that little by little will to work and solidifying. Anyway these projects have a slow implementation.

I have expanded a bit with a mini-introduction to the functional aspect here. It is very basic, but like you said something even if you have not seen you mismo.a
